Donate Your Unused RX Samples
Working in conjunction with the two area hospitals and several community organizations, GBMA helped bring to Bridgeport the Dispensary of Hope, a program to provide prescription medications at no charge to uninsured low income patients. The Dispensary of Hope of Greater Bridgeport is part of a growing network of clinics and pharmacies across the country sustained by local partnerships.
Bridgeport’s Dispensary started service in January 2011 and is located at 752 East Main Street, Room 170. Dispensary staff can be reached at 203-332-5653 and the facility is open to patients Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M, closed from 12:30 to 1 p.m. for lunch.
The Dispensary of Hope receives the medicine it provides for free from various sources including pharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical distributors, and PHYSICIAN OFFICES. GBMA encourages physicians to join in the effort by donating their soon-to-expire free samples to the Dispensary of Hope. This is a no-cost, low effort way for doctors to participate in the local initiative to get the much needed medication to uninsured patients in the community.
