The Greater Bridgeport Medical Association is the non-profit, professional association that has united doctors of the greater Bridgeport area for over 150 years. The Association membership consists of physicians affiliated with both Bridgeport hospitals, and represents a cross-section of all medical specialties.
The Association’s mission includes making a positive contribution to the community through financial support, and more importantly, through physician participation in organizations and projects that provide a benefit to the community.
Camaraderie:
GBMA is the only organization that brings the physicians together from Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent’s Medical Center and the community as a whole.
Congratulate:
Each year GBMA identifies one or more doctors from the area who are deserving of being recognized because of their exceptional volunteerism, notable patient care, lifetime achievements, humanitarian endeavors abroad, or other special accomplishment. There are many quiet heroes among our ranks, and their stories of service to others are an inspiration.
Champion:
Not everyone has the same opportunities to pursue their dreams and live life to its fullest. GBMA counters the negative influences by serving as a role model, giving healthy doses of encouragement, and provides financial aid in the form of substantial scholarships to graduating high school students and deserving nurses who want to continue their studies. GBMA also financially supports more than a dozen community service organizations.
The goodwill that is generated for the medical profession from these awards and donations is incalculable.
